Humanities & Social Sciences

Landsdale Primary School

Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) at Landsdale Primary School investigates the way in which humans interact across social, cultural, environmental, economic and political contexts.

Beginning in Kindergarten with History and Geography, the program expands to include Civics and Citizenship in Year 3 and Economics and Business in Year 5. Staff utilise the Western Australian Curriculum and Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines to plan and deliver units of work that are engaging, hands on, and encourage curiosity as learners.

Students develop a broad understanding of the world and learn to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions about real-world issues. Landsdale Primary aims to instil understanding and respect for different cultures, ideas, and environments through our classroom content, as well as whole school events such as NAIDOC Week and Multicultural celebrations.

Together We Grow

We respectfully acknowledge the past and present traditional custodians of this land on which we are meeting, the Wadjuk Noongar people. It is a privilege to be standing on Wadjuk country. We also acknowledge the contributions of Aboriginal Australians and non-Aboriginal Australians to the education of all children and people in this country we all live in and share together – Australia.
