POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT

Landsdale Primary School is in the initial stages of becoming a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school. PBS is an operational framework designed to enhance both academic and behavioural outcomes for students by ensuring they have access to effective instructional and behavioural practices.

As a comprehensive school-wide approach, PBS will help Landsdale Primary School foster positive learning environments. Our school values will guide the behaviour of all members of our community, including staff, students, parents, and community members. This will involve developing proactive systems to define, teach, and support appropriate student behaviour.

A behaviour matrix created by the school community will outline what these expectations look like in daily school life. We will use various verbal, non-verbal, and tangible methods to reinforce students who demonstrate the desired behaviours.

A dedicated PBS team will be established, comprising of members of the administration team, classroom teachers, specialist teachers, and education assistants. However, the entire staff at Landsdale Primary will be actively engaged in the design and implementation of PBS.

Together We Grow

We respectfully acknowledge the past and present traditional custodians of this land on which we are meeting, the Wadjuk Noongar people. It is a privilege to be standing on Wadjuk country. We also acknowledge the contributions of Aboriginal Australians and non-Aboriginal Australians to the education of all children and people in this country we all live in and share together – Australia.
