Positive Behaviour Support

Landsdale Primary School

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) at Landsdale Primary School

At our school, we are proud to implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). This is a whole-school approach that creates a safe, supportive and positive learning environment for all students. PBS focuses on explicitly teaching and encouraging positive behaviour, just like we teach academic and social skills. By having clear expectations and consistent language across the school, students know what is expected of them and feel supported to succeed.

Our PBS program is built around our core values:

        We Are Responsible

        We Are Safe

        We Are Learners

        We Are Kind.

These values are brought to life through our school mascots and are explicitly taught across all areas of the school, including classrooms, playgrounds and online spaces. Students participate in daily lessons where they learn what expected behaviour looks like, see examples and non-examples and practice these behaviours in real-life situations.

Staff consistently acknowledge positive behaviour using our PBS reward system, which includes tokens, rewards and celebrations. This helps to reinforce positive choices and build a strong culture across our school.

We believe that every student has the right to learn, and every teacher has the right to teach. PBS supports this by creating a consistent and positive environment where students feel safe, included and ready to learn. We also value the partnership between school and home, and encourage families to use the same language around our school values, talk about positive behaviour, and celebrate their child’s successes. Together, we can support every child to thrive.
